the game changers #2

15.10.14

If you grew up on Disney movies, you'll understand it when I say sequels are never as good as the originals. The only exception to that is Toy Story 3, I cried like a baby having it's favourite toy taken away throughout the movie - it was almost embarrassing. Except it wasn't because for those of you that are around my age, you'll understand how the last installment of the Toy Story was a grand finale to childhood. The end of an era. Back to the point, sequels never live up to the originals, but hopefully this sequel to the post that I did near six months ago will be on par. After all, it is a game changer - see what I did there?

the tinted-anything
I was never the one for tinted anything. To me, it was just another half-assed attempt to try and be something that could've been better. But then everyone started raving about the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint (£29) and I was intrigued. Fast forward a year or so later, I finally got my hands on a tube of this hyped up base and it was love at first sight. From packaging to innovation to the actual product, everything about this is perfection. First off, the coverage threw me off guard - it definitely just wasn't a tinted anything. I would relate it to a sheer, leaning slightly towards medium coverage foundation. The wear time for this base could help me fake a fabulous skin day for a good 12 hours. For more brownie points, the Jouer offering has been my travel buddy for near half a dozen trips. There's just nothing to fault about this product.

power brows
I've raved about the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (£15) a good dozen or so times on the blog and even got my mum hooked onto this. Basically, it's the perfect brow product - think power brows in a pot. I won't lie, it does take some time to get used to, but once past the initial phase, you'll be crusin' with amazing eyebrows for the rest of eternity. Or eh, as long as you keep repurchasing this amazing brow product.

the flicked-liner
Flicked liner is notorious for being the calculus of the makeup world - impossible to understand, but once you do, you will impress people and the self-confidence will skyrocket. I've dabbled with it on and off the past several years, giving up in defeat after every time. Or in the rare cases that I did succeed, there would always be some kind of disastrous followup - either smudging, or fading on one eye, and basically, leaving me looking wonky after some hours. That all changed since discovering the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (£13) - the perfect flick every time, no smudging, no uneven fading, no embarrassing black eye effect or whatever. Definitely a game changer if you're looking for a liquid liner to perfect that cat flick.
It's the constant quest to find more game changers that justify my overspending on makeup products. So let me know which products have been game changers for you so I can add them onto the list!
With Love,
Daphne x
