July Favorites 2013

July has been good to me. I'm almost sad that it's over. My internship is going great, if not stressful. I've pushed myself to be more social than I usually am and have met quite a few new friends. I've also had the opportunity to take part in two world records, and actually witness the establishment of a new one (The Most People Applying Facial Masks - this one was actually quite interesting! If you guys want to read about it, let me know!). I had a very important someone help me rediscover a part of myself that I thought was long gone. I had boy troubles. I had great times with friends. And of course, I fell in love with several beauty products.

[Collab] Seven For the Rainbow

The best thing about a rainy day is the rainbow that comes after. The Colors of the Rainbow tag has been passed around quite a bit on youtube and has made it’s way to the blogging world. Today, co-hosting with the lovely Megan from Little Miss Average, we’ve joined forces with 5 other girls to make our own rainbow that’ll spread across seven blogs. I remember when I was just getting into makeup. One of the things I heard the most was, "throw away the crap applicators that come with your eyeshadow/blush," if you throw that away, what do you have left to apply? And when I started venturing into the world of brushes, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount. And because I was stupid and didn't do my proper research, I was convinced by the sales at MAC, more than once, to shell out on brushes I've never really touched afterwards.

Lesson? Do your research beforehand and it can save you a lot of money.

Today, I'm going to help you guys with that and share with you some of my most used brushes.

This Week #5

Another week has come and gone. It's been a pretty busy week for me, and while stressful, it was amazing! We're expecting a typhoon (or hurricane, as the rest of the world calls it) this weekend so basically all events are canceled. Pity, I was looking forward to going in to take a Bobbi Brown master class with my friend on Saturday. :(

Anywho, can't change that! I just hope that there won't be massive damage to the island!

[Review] Bliss In a Tube - MAC Coral Bliss

I've said quite a few times that I'm not the biggest fan when it comes to lip products, but I believe that it's all about to change. As a person that is unable to use NARS blushes without wanting to scratch my face off (darn Bismuth allergies!), I always felt like I was a product away from calling myself a true beauty blogger. Well, I'm still hesitant to call myself a beauty blogger, but I feel one step closer to the title as I purchased my first ever MAC lipstick.

June Favorites 2013

I'm not going to lie - June did not fly by for me. June dragged her heels and procrastinated ending.

But now that it's over, I'm kinda missing it. I ended my last semester of the standard four years of uni in June and it means that we're halfway through 2013.

Am I the only one that's freaking out over that?

Okay, enough with that ramble and onto the real reason why you lovelies are reading this post.

I never thought I needed eye creams. I thought eye creams were for more mature skin, not for someone who's only 22. But one day, I was browsing the Origins counter and the lady pointed out that I had quite a few fine lines and the skin under my eyes were dehydrated. For the next three days, I kept holding a mirror crazy-close to my face and studying my under eye area. Yup, it was true. I could no longer boost of being young and not needing any extra products.

So some of you might know that I've just started my internship and it's stressing me out while being really satisfying. Day One was quite scary, as the first days always are. So I wanted to go in prepared for Day Two and use a bit more color to boost the mood.

[Review] Benefit Boi-ing Industrial-Strength Concealer

I’ve always loved Benefit’s products, more because of the sentimental and aesthetic reasons. That’s not to say that Benefit doesn’t have great products, it’s just that A) my mom helped me start my makeup collection by buying me several products from Benefit and B) their packaging is just so darn cute!

My most recent product from the brand is the Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer. It’s one I’ve been eyeing for quite a while before I finally bought it. The packaging, compared to the other products from the brand, is much more simple with the black base and clear window to see the product. But you can still tell it’s a Benefit product from the bouncy boi-ing printed on the window.
